After I took everything apart (not the cpu heatsink etc that stayed on and plugged in" I can hear a vibrating/buzzing noise. my desk is vibrating in a sense and a loud hum I can hear when downstairs. Weird but I think it needs replacing..

I've checked the fans they sound normal it's just highly irritating.

Would prefer a clip on fan and heatsink as I'm not great at mounting kits but if push comes to shove...

1155 socket. Tower or flat heatsink is fine, around £30 if possible. Spec in sig.

Edit: When I touch the motherboard tray near the cpu cooler i can definitely feel it there. Resting my elbow on the desk increases this annoyance.

Speedfan is reporting 2000rpm near enough. Just on the desktop. I have not checked before the noise so not sure what it should be.

Scythe Kotetsu if you can get one, think there is one in the mm, scythe are amazing value and you usually have to spend a lot more with other makes for the same results

You can get replacement fans for your oem cooler but they generally dont rev anywhere near as high so wont cool as well as the oem fan

Woops.. I actually forgot to screw in the rubber grommets in the HDD cages.. sorry!

yeah I slowed the fan with the bios that helped a lot. it's near silent now :)

Does the scythe require a backplate? I had a TX3 EVO before if that's better?
