The stock heatink on the wolfdales are about an inch thick and idle i have comp temps of 40oC!!!

That both with the pre applied paste and then some mx-1 i had which is now at 38oc. The ambient temp is cool very cool.

Could anyone recommend a good heatink where I dont have to oput a back plate on (its a pain in the ass)

hmm looks nice but i dont have £40 lol ive orderd the frezer 7, i had a freezer 64 for my old comp and it proformed well.

I suppose i just forgot how bad stock heatsinks really are.

thanks for the recommendations.

I ended up with the freezer 7 due to the ease of use and the fact i have used the freezer range before and all I can say is wow.

E8400 at stock using orthos is at comfy 42Degrees C thats a good 26 degrees cooler than the stock heatsink.

Seems intel are suing the same heastink on the wolfdales as the e4xx cpu's
