Stock I3570k temp

Changed the case, think the cpu cooler is loose. Had to tighten the brackets just so it could power up.

Removed the cooler, cleaned it out and put it back into place. idles around 50-53. I need to reapply some paste. Haven't done this in a while, how do you remove the old paste?

Tried to run a game, it turned off. Now it boots into Windows but turns off.

Checked in bios, CPU temp is 95.

Wtf is going on.

Are you sure you have the HS/Fan on properly?

It was clicked in(default Heatsink), not sure if I turned the lugs to lock them though.

But it was the game launch that triggered the high temps. I'm out now, when I get back I'll double check.

Heatsink was on tight, nothing wrong with it. it could be the paste. it's all dried up. I'll order some more.

Idling around 50-55 now.

Under full load it's hitting 104 and shutting down. Not even gaming was some windows stuff.

Could poor thermal paste be the culprit or is something wrong with the CPU?

I cleaned this and the heatsink. Took the cpu out, reseated it. Had no paste so tiny bit of paste residue may/may not be smudged onto the chip.

But temps are looking better so far.

lol its going upto 103 in games, but better then before at leasts its cooling down. I'll wait for the paste before anymore gaming.

Have ordered a coolermaster 212x as well, as the original heatsink fans wire is getting caught.

Got the new 212x installed and put new paste on, idles around 35 and load on prime is around 65. All fixed. :)
