Stock Quote Widget

I'd guess it's reading from a feed somewhere via jQuery, or possibly something server side.

If you can find a free XML/JSON feed it's only 5/10 lines of jQ to implement something like that.
 
As Spunkey said, you'll need a stock quote feed which might be tricky if you want it for free. Have a look at the Google Finance and Yahoo Finance API's, they might be of use to you. Otherwise find a supplier like Xignite.com who are pretty big in the market, but they certainly aren't cheap.
