Stock situation for "ASUS ROG THOR 1200W Platinum II"?

Hi All,

I suspect this is probably something only someone working at OC can realistically answer, but any thoughts / views are welcome. I have a custom PC build waiting on an "ASUS ROG THOR 1200W Platinum II" PSU to come into stock. I had fired a web query off to OC about it and they replied with "unfortunately there is no ETA for the PSU". I had set my heart on that PSU as it fit well with the other components, though if I get fed-up of waiting I can always ask them to switch it for another PSU. I was a little concerned about the whole no eta statement though, that gave me the impression I might have quite the wait on my hands.

I guess my question here is:

1. Is there a known shortage on that PSU unit and I could be waiting for a while for OC to get any stock?
2. Anyone else been in the "no ETA" situation before, and able to advise how long they ended up having to wait?

Cheers for the reply Tetras, I was looking at the Thor II 1000 as a possible replacement option if the wait got too much for me. It is a silly reason, but I just didn't like the visuals on that 1000W PSU compared to the all black on the 1200W. The 14th of May would indicate I have a good 5-6 weeks to wait, if that also holds true for OC getting stock. I am missing one other component which was the case itself, that had an ETA of 2 to 4 weeks, so I may just end up going for that 1000W PSU instead if there is still no ETA by then.

Well that is a facepalm moment for me right there, I think you are correct on that Tetras... ROG Thor 1200W Platinum II. Damn! Glad I asked in the forums, as that does make switching to the 1000W a much easier decision. Thank you.
