having a really hard time downloading windows 7 etc.

just wondering if anyone around stoke has it, that i could borrow for a couple of days?

sorry if this is in the wrong section, but i really need it today/tomoorw as i'm buying a new build today.

You could try this link - i've posted it a few times and its worked for all so far:

Here's the direct link for Win 7 64 bit - link

However, you must right click the link and choose save as - if you left click the link it will redirect you to the W7 homepage.

And these are the 64 bit keys that you need - any will do:

Sorry for hi-jacking your thread, but I wanted to ask about W7 X58 chipset drivers..

Do you just use the same set of drivers that you would use for Vista x64??

I am planning on giving W7 a run to see if I like it or not, but I am unsure about the whole driver thing..

I would try a post in the Windows forum Dave - loads of ppl in the know there.

But TBH, i suspect that W7 may have your chipset covered now with all the recent updates.

Additional: I'm liking your confidence - i would have thought you were close to thinking that you would never get the opportunity to try out the X58 with an OS. ;)

Pretty much all Vista x64 drivers work on W7. When I made the jump, I just used those, although I think a lot more vendors have W7 supported now.

Thanks for the replies.. I figured this would be the case...

@ Plec, I know at the end of the day, this issue will get resolved and I will have a nice rig to play around with.. it is just going to take a while!!!

The only Vista drivers that haven't worked for me were for my RAID card, though Win Server 2008 drivers worked fine.
