Stop a white flash between rendering web pages

As title, using firefox, I get a massive white bright flash between loading any webpage as the page code renders - just browsing OCUK for example (I have dark mode so easier on the eyes), but every single page click its a FLASH and very annoying.

Iv googled it, and tried shadowfox etc to force empty background code as not white but it didn't work - any ideas?
 
Hah while fiddling with a few options I changed background to black and over-ride to always in the Firefox colours options... you can't see anything not even to change it back LOL! had to make liberal use of ctrl+A and referring to what the dialogues looked like on another system to hit the buttons by dead reckoning to reset it hah (could have manually edited or reset the profile as well).
