For some reason not just yesterday but today when starting up Windows 8.1 Update 1 It keeps going to Bing, which is just ****

So here's how to get rid of it

You can disable it via setting following registry entry from 1 to 0:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet\EnableActiveProbing

Does this open in your default browser when logging into the PC?

If so, it's got nothing to do with Update 1. My work PC started doing the week before last, and as I've not been in for the last week (Easter hols), it doesn't have Update 1 yet.

I didn't know what was causing it though. My almost identical PC at home (now with 8.1 Update 1) doesn't do it, and a quick look through the start up programs hadn't show much. I'll look into the services when I get back after Easter, so thanks for posting.

Well what ever it's got to do with, it just appeared these last few days, may even be a new windows update.

But the fix is there if you need it :)
