for some reason when i play any game it doesn't lock the mouse to the monitor and the mouse can move from the game screen to the desktop in the other screen and if clicked this freezes the game.

at first i would just disable the second screen but getting annoying have ti disable and enable it constantly so figuring there must be a better way.

any one know how to stop this?

just a thought... When i had dual monitors i found if i clicked the other monitor it would minimise WoW or whatever i was playing. To fix this, i ran WoW in Windowed mode.

It's not what you asked for but it might be useful until you find your solution? I think most games can be run in windowed mode by editing the command line?

how about ultra mon with two profiles setup, one for dual monitors and one for single monitor. this way it's a simple mouse click to swap between the two when you want to play games.

If you have duel view on the mouse will go out of screen even if the montor aint there.

I use Ultramon now as a trial as they seem slow to update to new beta for Vista but I did have a app that was great for TV long ago called TV-Tool.

I could set at which point the mouse had to be moved out of screen at to 2nd screen, so I made it very top or bottom left corner.

google "mousejail" - an old program but might still work under XP/Vista.

2nd buy games from developers who know what "capture mouse" is :D

just click properties on your desktop and disable the other monitor while you dont need it, saves power as well, i hardly use my second monitor tbh, but if you do use it you can just temp disable it.

edit: i just read your post, i now feel slightly retarded

i have had same problem really,i use a sharp lcd monitor and i got an infocus projector.all i want to do is switch from 1 to the other with out unplugging it but i cant seem to get it sorted properly.all i can do is unplug the 1 and swap the leads which is a bit annoying after a bit.

Of course it dont affect the FPS. Why would it?

Anyway i use Dual-view in the Nvidia control panel and dont get this problem... and never have on multiple different setups over the years.
Some times on a loading screen i can move the mouse from in-game on to the second monitor but never while actually playing. That shouldn't be happening for you...

Make sure the monitor you play games on is set to the primary monitor.

i have 2 setup and using Ultramon with it, then its just a simple enable or disable second monitor. Even if the second monitor is enabled my mouse doesn't move over to it unless running in windowed mode.

What particular games is it giving you the problem in?

see I have the same problem. especailly on rts games. But I like the second monitor to still be on so I keep an eye on irc or msn
