Hi guys,

My setup is as follows:

Samsung 55ES7000
Pioneer VSX-527
Other various things that don't affect this issue.

This setup has worked flawlessly for the past couple of years until the last month, at first I thought it was Logitech Harmony doing something but subsequently I tested the equipment without out the remote so I'm not ruling this out.

So, everything is turned off, with my Harmony (or individual remote) I say to watch TV, so the TV turns on and sets to HDMI as well as the AMP turning on and setting to SAT mode, Sky Box comes on also.
Within 10 seconds or so the AMP then switches to "TV mode" for no apparent reason other than the TV is sending some signal for it to do so?
If I turn my PS4 on and set the AMP to "Game" within 10 seconds, again it will go to "TV mode". Highly irritating!!

Any ideas?

Turn off HDMI CEC. You have a Harmony. Programme it properly to control the sources in the way you want rather than the way the equipment believes you should watch.

CEC is off. Like I said it's not a harmony issue as I can turn the devices on manually with the remote in another room and the same issue occurs.

CEC is turned off. .
Have you checked that CEC is off in the AMP settings and PS4 settings And the TV settings ?

Also on your AV amp if you go to input settings you should be able to set your AV AMP to skip the TV input...;)
Picture below is taken from my VSX-924 but am guessing you should have something like these settings on your VSX-527

Cheers mate. Will check when I get home. You're probably right there tbh. Not sure why it would turn on mind...I imagine my daughter has been pressing things!

I also had this same problem at one time but I can't remember what setting/s I adjusted to fix it..It use to drive me nuts having to change the AV input to SAT after switching it on everytime

It Also worth disconnecting all the HDMI input cables from the AV amp and then turning the AV amp on and see if it still auto switches to the TV input..
