Untill they can release a version of boinc that will upload through our proxy server without giving one error or another then i cant be arsed messing about.
This has been going on for a while now and i cant get a version of boinc that will work properly.
Ive tried downgrading to an earlier version but that just gives an error that it can connect to a boinc client. Apparantly there is another version coming out to address the proxy issue so maybe when that comes out i'll resume but till then it looks like my computer is getting a rest.

I assume you've fallen foul of the NTLM proxy issues? If so, I believe there's a Perl-based proxy that you can run locally that will allow BOINC to connect to it as a standard proxy and will do the NTLM auth with your external proxy. Don't have the details though, sorry. I know people have had success with this.

no he doesnt :p , he assumed that all the projects used boinc.

Anyway i thought it was recognised that its only possible to fold a piece of paper 8 times (in half), so is this folding more like origami ?

but when you are folding a chain of thousands of amino acids there are literally billions of possible configurations  it is these configurations as well as the mechanisms of that folding process that Folding@Home is trying to study.

Maybe Slinky doesnt realise that folding doesnt use the boinc client
perhaps explained by the fact that Folding was due to be ported to Boinc at some point - not sure if it still is or not

I'm not sure Folding will offer much of an outlet anyway since generally it's more picky with proxies/firewalls than Boinc - certainly worth a try though :)
