Stopping mounts appearing on the desktop (Gnome).

Hi,

Running CentOS with Gnome.

When a partition gets mounted then it appears on my desktop. This is fine for CDs / DVDs / USB drives but not really what I want for other mounts.

Is there a way I can turn off this feature for non cd/dvd/usb mounts or to have the mounts appear in a follder on my desktop rather than directly on the desktop itself ?

Hit Alt+F2 and execute gconf-editor.

Navigate to apps -> nautilus -> desktop and untick volumes_visible.

Hopefully that will do the trick
