Hello all i am looking for advice on what i choose i have thought about getting to velociraptor drives and running them raid 0 or just using the funds to purchase a decent size ssd. What would you guys recommend?

A SSD would be quicker than velociraptors in Raid 0. And is an ideal upgrade for the OS and applications. But not really a good idea for bulk storage unless you are super rich. :)

Best upgrade I have done in ages

Avoid raptors would be my opinion. If this is the route you must go down, get two 1tb f4's, short stroke them (set a partition to use only the first 20% of the drive on each), and raid them, price v performance will be much, much better.

There is a good choice of ssd's out there so, you have options (1 decent size one, 1 mini one for os, or even raid 2 of them) but a raptor just will not give value and performance- imo they have most certainly had their day.
