I've got a car i need to store over the winter until about March time. I know i need to disconnect the battery, but is there anything more i need to do to keep it healthy?

Do i need to pump the tyres up to try and stop them from flat spotting? How much PSI are we talking?

Anything else i need to do? It's going to be in a garage, is it worth covering it up? Cheers in advance.

Oh yeah and i'm not being a pansy and storing the MR2 over winter ;)

Pump up tyres to stop them getting flatspots. No idea what PSI but would guess the maximum the tyre can take (normally written on the side).

Yup deffo leave the handbrake off (choc the wheels) to stop it seizing and maybe either drain the tank or completely fill it so the fuel won't go off so quickly or form condensation in the tank. Stored my car for 2 months like this without a problem.

I read on another forum that one could consider disconnecting the coil lead and cranking the car for about 30 seconds to get the fluids flowing and lubricating before the car actually runs when you get back to it. They went on to say that this wasn't strictly necessary, but a good idea. Also, one should disconnect the fuse to the EFI before doing this to stop flooding with fuel.

The other peices of advise are what I would have said, apart from: "take all food out of the car". :p

Ive never understood why people go to so much trouble when storing a car.

Disconnect the battery, leave the handbrake off, chock the wheels and throw a sheet over it (if you have a garage, even better).

If you're really worried about the tyres etc, shove it on axle stands over the winter, I helped my old boss put his Evo up on stands last month :)
