Hi All,

Odd question - new sofas arriving tomorrow and leaves me with the old one, as its to good to throw away I want to keep it,

What's the best way to store it, as the garage is part of the house and I have no garden the bins live in there too, worried about it picking up a musty smell,

Is wrapping it in cling film a good idea? or just cover it with a sheet,

Maybe 6 to 12months,

Cheers

If its dry it should be ok, even better if the garage is heated as that will keep any damp away.

Just keep it off the floor, stand it on some cardboard if you can and cover with dust sheets. It will obviously pick up the smells around it over a long period like 12 months but once its back in the house a good clean and it will be ok again.

Why keep it ? Flog it. Otherwise stand it on 2 pallets & cover it in plastic then a Heavy blanket type cover.

get some shrink wrap like the rolls used in warehouses that they use on palletes.

clingfilm is to thin and would be full of gaps where moisture and bad smells can get in
