Storing Xbox Games On 360/Playing Without Disk

Just a quickie... A friends xbox(Original) has died and he has a decent little collection of games that he has offered me for silly cheap. But i really cant be bothered with constantly digging out the games for a quick blast on one of them.. Now.. Are you able to install them onto the disk like you can with the 360 Games? Do you need the disk in to play like you do with the 360? The reason i ask is that i have noticed there are a lot of xbox originals on the market place but obviously you do not get the disk with them and they play straight from the drive. Is the coding modded?

More to do with anti-piracy I would have thought. If you have it from the Xbox Originals range on MP then obviously you must have paid for it, therefore no security checks are needed with a disc.

Yeah i suppose.. Didnt even know you could play copied xbox games on a dodgy 360.. Not that i am interested on that was just curious...

If you have games on an original xbox hard drive they can be played without a disk. Although there is no official 'install' support as far as i'm aware.

If you have games on an xbox 360 they need the disk in the drive.
