Hello all!

I currently have a Storm Trooper case from Cooler Master. Inside I have two GTX 560 TI's in SLI. I am finding that when they get up to around 70 degrees, the fans get very loud. Which is disappointing, because I bought them about 12 months ago on the basis of their being fairly quiet.

I did some digging around and read somewhere that the 560 TI is not very good at venting hot air outside the case, so the heat from one card rises up into the second, causing them to get hot much faster. Which sadly I did not know when I bought them.

Anyway, I only have the stock fans in the case at the moment. Does anyone have views on whether replacing the fans will make much of a difference, or would it be better to just drop the 560's and getting a card that exhausts heat better?

I've never considered changing the case fans to be worthwhile, but if it makes a lot of difference then it sounds like a cheaper option than replacing the cards.

GPUs that exhaust heat are not a necessity if you only have one of them.

In a dual gpu set up they are preferred but it's a bit late for that.

Make sure you have a good exhaust on the rear and one on the rear-most roof fan mount too (no idea what stock fans this case comes with).

How many fans do you have and where are they ?.

I think this case will take a few fans so i would fit SP120 fans we're you can

From the cooler master site

Front : 120 mm LED fan x2, 1200 RPM, 17 dBA
Top: 200 mm fan x 1, 1000 RPM, 23 dBA(converted to 2 x 120 / 140 mm fan)
Rear: 140 mm fan x1, 1200 RPM, 19 dBA(converted to 120 mm fan)
Side: 120 mm fan x 2 (optional)
Bottom: 120 mm fan x 2 (optional)

I have the same case, change the 200mm on the roof for 2 AF 140mm's and 1 140mm on the back of the case, they should exhaust a little better. Although the stock fans do a good job on their own.

My thread has quite a bit of info about the case as I'm planning on water cooling it and such - Click Here

Thanks for the responses, I am going to look at replacing the top fan with two 140's and see whether that will help the heat exhaust quicker. The problem is, to exhaust through the top the heat from the bottom card will still pass through the top card. It makes me wonder whether I should just drop the SLI and get a 660 or something, I daresay the performance is still better than my SLI setup.
