Story about G-sync's recent improvements

No, it's someone else's. Apparently they've been working on this stuff and didn't have the savvy to see a company taking advantage of their work.

Doesn't sound bitter at all

To summarise he basically says "I invented everything but have no proof to back up my claims but please believe me"

I don't know what they're trying to gain then. It's just a moan saying they stole his idea and work. He should have done something to prevent that then or been smarter about it. If he was doing it for fun or general interest he should stop moaning about it and be pleased they adopted his idea. What does he want? Them to launch a new graphics card with his name on it or something?!

Yes, this is the guy who managed to download the nvidia mobile gsync demo driver and then posted up videos of gsync "working" on a nongsync desktop monitor, when others tried to replicate his steps, all it did was enable a checkbox in NVCP, but the end result was obviously not actual gsync working

The extent of his work was just force loading a mobile driver on to a desktop machine

There were account of it working and funny enough shortly after nvidia started reuploading older drivers with patched security.. Wonder why they did that.. His main point was that gsync could be done without a module and everyone laughed at the guy..Now we have nvidia doing gsync offically without a module and we still laugh at the guy? The internet is a cruel place. I cannot speak for his methods or the driver he uploaded but the main message he wanted across was and still is valid. I would be a bit ****ed to for getting all that flak when in the end I was proven correct by the very company that said it could not be done.

Seems like a legit guy and explains the situation clearly - even though English is not his first language.

It makes me laugh how much people trust these massive corporations again and again even after getting anally raped by them.

This guy had nothing to gain - he was just exposing some truths. He got completely belittled because no one could understand his work properly or wanted to believe he could possibly be right.

Now it's proven he was right by Nvidia, he still gets made out to be a complete tool by people who still can't comprehend what he'd actually done.

After the way AMD and Nvidia treat customers it's surprising that they can retain any hint of credibility and customer support - but it seems people are more than happy to eat their Fully star swearing! pies and can't wait to go back for more.

Strange world. You have to respect these companies that can engineer 'unending loyalty' to nothing more than a faceless profit driven organisation with clever marketing, branding, pr and hyperbole.

The mobile version uses eDP, which already has support for variable refresh (for power saving originally but now with some tweaking)

I downloaded and tried it, as I have both a gsync display and non I could very clearly see which one was working and not

Glad to see the tinfoil hat brigade are still going strong though :D

Groan not this guy again. The guy who got gsync working on a laptop with that leaked driver and its actually adapative sync not gsync. The driver control panel showed gsync was working because it was actually adapative sync underneath.

Nvidia wrote the driver but didnt change the LABEL in control panel they just used the same option. Reason why it was patched was to stop people tinkering with it and claiming it was one thing when it was actually adapative sync.

Did we have to drag this up again it was already explained by Nvidia cleary do a search for the old thread.

His message wasn't valid. It's not possible to do Gsync on a desktop monitor without a module or else make the necessary changes on their desktop cards to connect to an adaptive sync monitor.

The reason it is possible on a laptop is that the needed hardware is already there as it's a requirement of the embedded display port specification.

He deserved every bit of flack he got.

Too late to the party?

Does anybody know where I can download G-tools Beta 2? Looked everywhere but all the links are dead :(
