Very strange & annoying problem

Built this PC about 3 weeks ago, everything working 100% perfect.
Overclocked to 3.4 @ 1.3775 BIOS (425 x 8) with ram 1:1 (850mhz)
CPU temp peeked at about 62 under prime (small ffts)

That setup was running for about 2 weeks, until a few days ago when i tryed tweaking the ram latencys. The ram is rated @ 5-5-5-15.

I tryed lowering the timings to something like 4-4-4-13 and it would not post.
So cleared CMOS and it would post again.
Setup BIOS to my previous settings 3.4 @ 1.3775 BIOS (425 x 8) with ram 1:1 (850mhz) and it bsod's on the splash screen. weird!
Ive tryed lots of combinations and it will only boot windows when the fsb is below 370.
for example if i set the fsb to 360 and a multi of 9 everything works fine.
if i set the fsb to 380 with a multi of 6 it bsod's after about 1-2 seconds of the splash screen.

i managed to get into windows at around 364, ran prime and it rebooted after about 1 min.

ive run memtest - no errors found
tryed 1 stick of ram
different psu
updated BIOS
disconnected unnecessary componets - and the problem still occurs

Im thinking it must be the motherboard, but how - all i did is change the timings! And i dont think i could send it back for a replacement as it works fine at stock speed

Anyone have any ideas i could try?
