Hi,

One user is having a strange problem where she cant login randomly and i have to reset her password back to the identical one she is using before it works again.

She is definately NOT getting her password wrong.

Using Server 2008 Standard.

All other users are fine except for her.

How do you know she is not getting her password wrong?
If it contains symbols in the password then perhaps something is screwing up the keyboard layout? Does she have multiple languages installed?

Always catches a few out here when we have different keyboard setups on different machines.

no, and it doesnt lock out either (i dont have a prompt to unlock it)

its like the AD account just doesnt accept the password on random occasions and needs a password reset to bring the connectivity back

Can you make it so that she does have to change it at first logon. Then she can choose something else.

As mentioned, although reading your posts it doesn't seem to be the case, the only thing I can think of is the preload keyboard is set to a different language than her logon profile.

there is no special characters (all letters) in the password so it should not be an issue regarding the language (she is spanish).

Bizarrly it happens more if she is working on the VPN from home.

corrupt AD account?

we have 2 in the UK and 1 in Spain, she is the only person who authenticates to the Spain one in the office and then into the UK through VPN (could be the issue)

groen - run that command and nothing abnormal comes up in the information displayed
