Strange ADSL issue

Hey guys, basically the router is disconnecting when the phone is in use, incoming and outgoing calls. I have it connected straight into the test socket on the master with the faceplate removed (so house wiring is not relevant). It's just a micro filter connected with router and single phone connected to that.

I have tried 5-6 different filters and two routers so don't believe them to be an issue. BT have come out while I wasn't here and changed the master socket (nice new Open reach branded one) so can't be that. It has to be something on the line.

If I pick up the phone I can hear "noise" and the router will drop the connection after a second, when it attempts to reconnect I can hear what sounds like fax/dial up tones which must be the router attempting to reconnect (if I power off the router during this the noise drops immediately, and with the router off the is no noise on the line).

Googling around this sounds like a "HR fault" but would prefer other ideas if anyone has them before I call BT out again.

Thanks.

Ring 17070 and try a quiet line test. If you hear noise, I'd raise it as a line fault (rather than an ADSL fault).

If you can hear noise on the line raise it as a fault with your provider. Under no circumstances mention ADSL.

Thnks guys, I'll get onto them tomorrow, in the meantime here's my line stats:

Uptime: 0 days, 0:46:30
DSL Type: ITU-T G.992.1
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 736 / 2.528
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/MB]: 2,96 / 14,82
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12,6 / 19,9
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 25,5 / 43,5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 10,0 / 5,4
System Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / ----
Chipset Vendor ID (Local/Remote): BDCM / IFTN
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 18 / -
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 2 / -
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / -
Loss of Link (Remote): -
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 326 / -
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 15.457 / 117.995
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 349 / 3.240
HEC Errors (Up/Down): -49 / 3.240 / 39.581

AFAIK this indicates a problem with the line as the attenuation looks good yet the SNR is horrific (and subjct to change, it goes between 10-5 and was as high as 14 around 11PM last night, at which point the line stopped dropping when the phone was used). Walking down the road I see the line passed through numerous trees and is also rubbing on one.

Tried that but as I'm not with BT it's not available, just reads my number back to me. However in the silent parts I could hear noise, sounded kinda like wind or leaves rustling. Also happens if I pick up the phone and press a random number (so it goes quiet).
