Hi guys,
I get these artefacts while playing Deus Ex mankind divided. As they come up only with it I am not bothering much, but truth be told it is the only game I have played on DX12 so far and I was WONDERING IF THEY WERE DUE TO A FAULTY GRAPHIC CARD.
i HAVE A gtx 1070.

Not to do with DX12, well, there could always be a particularly buggy combination of settings that just doesn't work but that isn't an inherent DX12 thing.

In general really big texture issues are say 95% of the time down to unstable memory. Is it a new or old card, any other games been unstable? DX12 can in many cases load the GPU more heavily so potentially it's just under marginally higher load than other games.

I'd try well, first try some default settings, if you're using say Ultra, use medium and see if they are there to rule out it being the game. If that doesn't work try to underclock(or reduce an overclock) the memory to see if that fixes it.

I just played through it, I did get one stage of very different artifacts in one very particular cutscene but no where else throughout the game.

The card is new. GTX 1070 and I am playing at Ultra. I tried to reduce the texture, and even though the artefacts come later than when in Ultra, they do come.

What brand was it? I don't follow too closely on everything going on with Nvidia cards but I know a fairly high number of people using EVGA cards from the new gen have overheating problems. Not actually sure what the symptoms are but it's memory overheating afaik and that kind of corruption tends to happen with memory issues. Not sure if other brands had any issues with it.

A quick fix, or a check would be downclocking the card, try memory first, then core and see if it goes away. If it's new, depending on if it shows up in other games it could just be a bad card which happens. If you underclock and it goes away I'd think about RMA'ing and asking for a replacement.

Have you tried some other games, try anything else that has a high load. So think turn off v-sync and try and get max frame rate out of the card in a modern/demanding game(other than Deus Ex ;) ).

If it's fine in everything else it could be just the latest patch messed something up. Maybe try verifying game data in Steam, maybe something is just corrupt. Such a pain trying to find the cause of a problem.

Thanks for the tips. I will try them all. I have already checked the data from Steam and it seems not to come for now. I will then see if it is related to the overclock of the monitor. If it still comes up I will check with the graphic card. I have played most intense games (witcher 3 ultra) and no issues so far. Let's see what happens. BTW it is a MSI GTX 1070
