Strange battery problem (iPhone)

I've recently bought a second hand iPhone 5S which appeared to have a dodgy battery - it would not hold any charge even with airplane mode on.

So I bought a new battery (from a recommended dealer) and I am seeing the same battery problems.. Last night it went from 100% to 0% in 9 hours, with 2 minutes screen time (over night).

So I am guessing its not the battery itself, and I have recently upgraded to 9.0.2 from 9.0.1 (had battery problems with both) and reset to factory, etc..

Any ideas as to what the problem could be?
 
Only way to sort out these problems, if they are caused by dodgey OS, is to do a full restore (re-downloads the full iOS image, wipes the phone, applies it). Make sure you have a backup first.
 
I did a restore yesterday and the phone is no better, drains battery like no tomorrow (gone overnight in Airplane mode)..

I have tried to check for water damage, but it is not obvious looking into the headphone socket+sim tray..
 
Go to expresslane.apple.com and follow the support process for your device - at some point it will ask for an email to send a diagnostic - assuming its an email accessible via the phone - do this and run the diagnostic.

The reason I say this is that when you take it in for an appointment - they have to do this - so having already got the results will speed up your turn around time.

Also might I add - with the waiting times for stores being insane at the moment, if you choose at the end of the process 'take in for a service' and you see any non apple stores on the list (i.e.: the authorised resellers) - any that show in this list have apple trained staff who can repair and replace just the same as the main apple store does and in my experience you can get seen much quicker.

Thanks @Alpherah, good advice. Unfortunately I dont live close to an Apple store, it is out of warranty and even if they offer a replacement it is going to cost me..

I might just sell it to one of those recycling websites (I couldnt/wouldnt sell it to a person, with me knowing of these problems) and hope they dont notice the problems I am experiencing.. Unlocked I should very nearly get my money back.
