Hi our pc now has an issue let me begin..... did a good clean of case and then went to re apply thermal paste as its never been changed after being installed for a few years, well i was an idiot and dropped the cpu a Ryzen 1600 it is. anyway 3 pins got bent which i managed to sort out and strighten and got it to sit fine in the socket, also updated the bios to latest one as it had one in from 2017

now the pc will only boot to windows if its got only 2 of the ram sticks fitted (we have 4) if all 4 are fitted the white LED which is for VGA on the motherboard (ASUS B350F GAMING) Stays on and just get a black screen, if i go into bios and force boot it boots to windows, with all 4 ram fitted.......But if i turn of the pc the only way i can get back into Bios to force boot it again is to remove the cmos battery first......but if i only have ram in slots 1 and 3 it boots up fine from being turned on to windows every time even if you turn it off them back on......have swapped the RAM and they all work fine .....any ideas whats wrong ? is it the Bios or is the CPU now at fault due to the pins? any help would be great cheers

Do you have XMP / DOCP enabled? If so, disable it. Also take the CPU out and give it a careful examination to see if any pins got knocked off. And with a system that old I would replace the CMOS battery as a precautionary measure.

If the computer worked fine before you dropped the cpu then logically it would mean the cpu is at fault- in that there is now a problem with its memory controller.

Reset bios then start from there ,if still problems then check cpu pins.

I received a 3600 this week with several bent pins and it took a magnifying glass and a scalpel to bend them straight. Anyway I was able to get that sat back in the socket after refitted and manipulated the lever a few times. So assuming you don't have a broken or cracked pin you should be able to get the CPU working again.
