Just turned PC on when i got home and it wouldnt boot, only about 5 months old (all in sig +extra 250GB HD as storage)

I had to set my boot properties up again in BIOS as they had somehow changed since i turned PC off 6 hours ago. No one else had been using it, unless the cat and dog had.

Any ideas ?

Been fine since.

nope, not that i have come across yet, nothing mentioned on start up, something like-

please inset 'something' and press a key i remember ???

but thats it ?

if you got a non-bootable floppy disk in the drive that might affect it, usually if theres a boot from it would say something along the lines of "no operating system found" or "NTDLR missing) in which case youll need to boot the WinXP disk and go into recovery mode and type FIXMBR

theres loads of reasons for a computer to go wrong but need to know as exact as possible what the issue is so we can help resolve it
