Strange boot problem, can't fix it!

I posted weeks and weeks back about this but am still unable to fix it.

When I start up the PC, about 1 second after it powers up, it powers down again. Then, about 3-4 seconds later, it powers back up and continues to boot as normal?

I'm stumped for ideas so if anyone has any ideas as it what might solve it, I'd like to hear them!

bent pins on cpu?

I had the same type issue with my mobo if my overclock was unstable or too high (FSB), after it rebooted the bios settings were restored to defaults, is this happening to you?
Try reducing the OC a bit and see how it goes.

Upon building my PC, I inspected the CPU and was super careful (as always) when installing it. I haven't taken it out or change the heatsink since (that was about 3 months ago).

How would bent pins cause this kind of problem?

Yeah seen that problem before with an OC'ed PC just tune it down a bit and try again.

Yeah, I'll give that a go actually, although I suspect I may have reset BIOS before for other reasons and it happened anyway, but to be sure I will do it again anyway!
