Bit of a long story so please bear with me,2 years ago I replaced my old system with a new one and stored the old system as a spare, until recently when I was looking to sell/pass on the old system to a friend and got it out to clean up and make sure it was all ok and it started behaving quite strangley on startup.

System consists of:
i5 4690k/H80 AIO Cooler
Asus Z97 motherboard
16Gb Ram
GTX980
250Gb Kingston SSD boot drive

Up until I put it into storage, (well the spare bedroom), it was running perfectly now though the first thing that started going wrong was on bootup it wouldnt boot into windows unless I entered BIOS and selected the SSD it would then boot up into Windows as normal and run perfectly.

So before I could look into this any further now when the system is switched on the first thing I get is a "CPU fan error press F1 for setup" message even though the AIO fans are all working and the corsair pump is lit up and sounds like it is running.

Entered Bios again to try and sort out the boot issue and before I could do anything the system just shut down when I pressed the power button to turn it on again the fans spun up briefly then shut down again I am assuming it either did overheat or the system thinks it did as it assumes there is no CPU fan working.

To be honest I have no idea where to start with how to sort this out so any advice would be much appreciated.

PS. Newer sytem is back at Overclockers as the PSU went BANG in a big way with a gunshot like noise and a blue flash from the PSU it just isnt my week for computers :)

Ok Changed the CMOS battery on power up it says
"Enter BIOS to save Settings"
"CPU Fan Error"
"Press F1 to enter setup"

Entered BIOS set date and time.

It now appears to show the primary SSD Boot drive on the home screen.

CPU Temp rose rapidly to nearly 60degrees, motherboard temp stayed at 25 degrees before I shut it down.

The cooler fans are spinning, (push/pull), and the pump is lit up but I dont think its running as I cant feel any vibration from it when its on and no temperature change in the pipes or even when touching the pump itself.

So it seems the problem with the boot drive may be fixed but cannot fully test that out yet until I can get it to run cool I cant really test that out.

So now need to get a cooler of some sort to swap out the AIO to see if that the issue or if its the motherboard CPU Fan header thats the issue.
