Hi,

I currently use a HP ZR24W monitor which I have had for 2-3 years.

Last night I noticed that there was a strange almost stain-like looking thing on the screen down the left side about 1cm in thickness.

I don't think its any type of burn in because its just a wavy line. it kind of looks like a coffee-stain on white paper.

Here is the best picture I could get.

It continues all the way to the top of the screen with small breaks in the middle. I really have no idea what it could be and I cant find anything online. Its definitely not a mark on the screen and its certainly not any type of water or physical damage.

I hope the Gods of OCUK can help me :)

Cheers!

I've recently had my Hitachi 32" lcd t.v. replaced by Hitachi after sending them photo's and links to av forums posts, my watermark ran accross the screen like a mountain range and apparently its due to a thin lens warping on one of the projectors.
Take some pics, email the monitor manufacturer customer support and tell them it's a manufacturing defect, after a bit of back and forth emails you should get a replacememnt or refund.
I had a refund and now own a 40" bush lcd :D
There's a few youtube vids of similar problems its just a case of compiling them and forwarding links to customer services.
My t.v. was over 3 years old and had no warranty when i sent my emails.

I have a BenQ FP241w about 5-6 years old. It badly needs replacing due to a similar issue. Although not shown here, games and page logos can burn into the screen and leave there mark in seconds. Takes a while for them to fade away.
