Hey

Whenever my SC is installed (Asus Xonar DX) I hear two clicks during boot up, which sound like they are coming from PSU.

Are clicks like these normal? I've never heard them before with previous components.

PSU: Antec TP2 550W (about 2 years old - this a problem with my current spec?)

Soundcard: Asus Xonar DX (uses little 4-pin similar to floppy drives)

Thanks for help. :)

I guess it could be possible that adding your sounds card is putting your PSU under more strain and it's on the way out.

Do you have another PSU that you can try? I would say for your other parts your PSU is a bit weak and a few year old, when a PSU gets older it's common for them to deliver less power and also have more ripples over the rails.

The clicks are from the soundcard itself and it's intentional. It's a relay that switches sound output on/off. Nothing to worry about :) I have the D2X and it does the same thing.

Ok thanks for your opinion. I was concerned that my PSU wasn't up to it. I also have two HDDs if that makes any difference.

Also my PSU doesn't have an 8-pin 12V plug, will that make any difference on stability?

EDIT: Ok thanks pduk. I'm getting BSOD's when I tried to unistall SC drivers, I think it's faulty so requested RMA and got through ok, apparently it happens occasionally with these cards. I was wondering if click was anything to do with it. Apparently not. :) thanks for help
