I seem to have something strange happening with my Overclock, and i wanted to know if any of you had seen similar symptoms.
OK, overclock details...
E6600 @ 3.2 Asus P5N32-E Sli
OCZ 2x1GB 6400 DDR 2
FSB1450 - BUS 365mhz
Memory - 4,4,4,15 (manufacturer recommended)
CPU Multiplier x9
Vcore 1.4v
Memory Voltage 2.25v
Ok basically it seems in testing something is not right with my memory. But the symptoms are very odd. If i boot from cold (PC off for several hours) and run Orthos after the boot, and do memory tests it errors quickly - anywhere from 5 to 20 seconds in and stops. The PC hasn't locked or anything.
I can run Orthos again, and it stops again in the same place.
It's worth saying here that the CPU is 100% stable.. Orthos does not error on CPU after a cold boot.
Now the strange part. I reboot the computer, and everything then runs fine for hours. So far i have had Orthos test the memory for 6+hours, and CPU for 5 and it's fine. But only after rebooting the computer again after the initial cold boot.
So in a nutshell, everything could be stable all night. I shut the PC down, go to bed, next day boot it up. Run Orthos, error on memory. Reboot.. fine for the rest of the day - or until i leave it for X amount of time.
Memory timings are what is recommended by OCZ (4.4.4.15). All i have done is up the memory voltage to 2.25v and set the memory timings to FSB 1450 x 800mhz.
Any clues? Heat issues all seem to be sorted now (as per last thread).
Cheers
