hi,

everything is running as my rig should performance wise but i have noticed slight corruption in games not artifacts as such but on the edges like a slight colour corruption a slight blur it's kind of wierd as it's only on edges like where AA should be any idea's anyone.... when the mouse is still it's perfect but if you move the mouse slightly you can see it.

Take a screenshot so we know exactly what you are talking about. :)

Is it in the correct resolution? What games are affected? Does it do the same with the latest drivers if you don't have them already?

after trawling the internet @ work lol i have found a solution as this is a common fault but can be fixed by going into the service menu.

here is how to do it.

"To do so, power off the monitor then press and hold the menu button and power the monitor on.Then release the menu button when the display comes on. Now press menu again and the service menu comes up. Set the panel type to LPL22w 4L. Exit the service menu and turn the monitor off then back on. It worked for me, looks like i wont be sending it back after all"

as i'm at work i will try this friday morning when i get in as this really has been bugging the hell out of me lol apart from that and it is only a slight color blur on edges the screen is fantastic.

hope this works and maybe helps another peep in the future! :D:D

infact could a mod move this to the display thread as this could be useful in the future as i orig thought it was my 8800gt causing the problem hence the post here :)

i know thats why it gave me such a headache from the begining lol as it turns out it's down to the LG 226WTQ you have to select the correct panel in the service menu don't ask me why but just got home followed the instructions and the now it has completely fixed the problem.

:)
 
What I'm saying is.... the 'screen shot' doesn't take the image from the panel, it takes the image from the video card (or more accurately, the video memory (as far as i'm aware).

So once again, how have you managed to capture a screen with pink in it that was the panel fault?

well not sure exactly how it works but it's fact none the less the fault i was getting was on edges like you would expect from a faulty vid card etc

but i ruled out the hardware side by trying with my 7800 gtx anyway i tried everything lol

so the simple fact regardless of how it is done the corupption was there in all games just like an artifact the fault was not pc hardware related nor was it pc software related it was infact the LG 226WTQ

i used the free version of FRAPS to take the shots

so i'm sure someone on here understands how the video signals work with regards to screen shots lol i'm just letting you know the facts :)
