got a e6300, ds3, corsair xms2 in an akasa eclipse among other components not worth listing, lol

every so often when i boot i get one long beep, which i set in the bios when the cpu fan doesnt spin as a warning ( if it fails) sometimes it wont spin and i have to reboot atm it wont spin at all.

Im currently using a case fan on the cpu fan slot on the mobo and the cpu fan on a case fan socket on the mobo. (set fan fail warning to case fan as a precaution) had no problems what so ever, not stopped once and is working fine. I could change it back to the cpu socket but after a while the same problem occurs.

Am using f7 bios, any one come accross this before? is strange eh?

Thanks in advance

Benny.

Does the Gigabyte bios have a function that monitors and adjusts fan speeds from the bios? ASUS calls theirs Qfan. If so, try disabling it. If you have it and it is disabled now, try enabling it.

Had something similar yesterday on my new DS4. Fan was shutting down due to something or other. I think it's by design but is annoying.

In the bios, set the fan set the Fan Speed Control Method to Legacy and the Fan Speed Control Mode to PWM.

That cures it on the DS4.

thanks ill give that a go,

also when the computer boots with the new f7 bios you get some horrible screen with gigabyte etc on it, u can switch back to normal post screen by pressing Tab however it doesnt stick, like i mean next time u reboot u have to do the same etc etc...
