Strange CPU issue when benchmarking

Just installed my new RX 580 and have been experimenting with overclocking it. It gets through the TimeSpy benchmark at 1460 core using afterburner but the CPU test doesn't run as well as it should.

I noticed this in my results from before I installed afterburner when I ran it at stock and every test after overclocking, the CPU score was lower than it should be even back at stock speeds again.

I figured it was a software issue so I reinstalled the drivers and thankfully I have got my CPU speed back.

I have noticed this in the results on the 3D Mark database some people have **** CPU scores.

Anyone help?

Oh and I completely uninstalled the afterburner software as well.

Well I think I figured out the problem. The first 3D Mark that completed successfully whilst overclocking the GPU was with the core at 1460 however I noticed some stutter during the benchmark. Then during the CPU test and in every other CPU test after even at lower core speeds and even at stock and even after rebooting the CPU score was lower than it should be.

I managed to get the CPU speed back by reinstalling the drivers and uninstalling Afterburner, not sure what actually got the CPU speed back but something did. So I figured I would give it another try but this time aim for 1430 core which had no stutter when I tested it before and sure enough the CPU speed was back to normal during the test.

So I think pushing the GPU core too far contributed to the strange CPU slowdown.
