Hi Guys,
I've just received an order with OCUK for some new kit and its crashing in the strangest way.
The problem is completely random, sometimes it wont happen for 8 hours use then it might happen 3 times in 20 minutes.
The system kind of does a hang, but I can still interact with certain things? For example if I have my web browser open, I still get hover effects on menu items, hyperlinks etc and I can partially open menus (some will open, some will open with items missing).
It's a fresh Win8 RP install, I also notice when the crash occurs I can hit the windows key to get back to the MetroUI and I can actually re-arrange my tiles and even click them to get the clicky effect - just nothing happens.
It seems to me like the system is still responsive but it can't load any new data? Like its just running from RAM? I'm wondering if the new SSD/Motherboard SATA connector/Motherboard south bridge are damaged?
Here's the details of the new parts:
CPU: Intel Core i5-3550
SSD: OCZ Agility 3 240GB
MB: Asus P8Z77-V LX
Part's already in the machine which the above went into:
GPU: Gainward GeForce GTX 560Ti "Phantom" 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
RAM: Corsair XMS3 48B (4x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9)
PSU: Corsair TX750 V2
2nd HDD: WDC Green 1TB
Other stuff: a SATA optical drive, usb speakers and a DVI monitor.
