Strange death of my system....

Went back home after a week and noticed that the fuse had tripped on my PC. I reset it and hit power, nothing happened. Opened up the PC and my 5 yr old Tagan 480 is lifeless, no power on the multimeter, no spinning fans.

Seems like my Tagan has died without the computer even being switched on? Haven't checked other components yet, but seems a little strange.

Anyone else had similar experiences?

Sometimes older PSU's die if they are left sitting for long periods of time. Sometimes even a week could be enough if it is ordinarily turned on daily. I'm not entirely sure why this is the case, but it has happened to a few of my friends when they have stored their computer in a cupboard for a few months or moved house etc.

It just means that it was probably close to death anyway, but was being kept alive by frequent usage.

Thanks TBH I didn't use the comp very often, as I used another computer on a daily basis.

Will get another PSU and see if anything is salvageable :)

The rest of the PC should be absolutely fine if it was just a case of it not turning on one day :)
