I built a small HTCP PC last year, has not been used but moved house and started useing it now.
All new componets, except the graphics card, which was second hand.
Running celeron dual core and a ATI HDMI graphics card, 2gb single stick ram, 1TB samsung HDD & Windows 7 Ultimate.
Issue is that when PC turns on, boot up information come up fine, then boots into windows, but then screen hangs on blank.
I reset, boot into safe mode and then power off, back on, boot up as normal and windows loads!
I did notice that very occasionally i got a few atifcats on screen (green ish lines for a mili second) and when playing a film the screen will go black for like 2 seconds then film or tv show will continue to play fine!
PC stays on for hours and usuable.
Does everything point to a faulty graphics card memory? Its just cooled via a heatsink (no fan) and only runs media center and internet/FTP download.
I have updated to latest drivers as well.
Just seems strange as if faulty GPU ram i thought the pc would freeze and crash, or is this just the begining?
If i underclock the card would this be help to diagnose the issue or would i be wasting my time?
