Strange double Boot cycle before post.

Hi all,

Either since a Bios upgrade or possibly an overclock my PC now performs a weird double boot cycle before it posts???

CMOS has been reset, and overclock set back to default settings etc, but it still does it from a cold boot.

Struggling to find out why??? :confused:
 
I have similiar issue, tho mine shuts down twice before it finally boots properly, and it runs fine once it boots.

Tho i put mine down to shear age of the system its 8 year old gaming rig thats been used every day, so it had rough ride, tho still does well on 'most' modern stuff considering the age lol

When you upgraded your bios last it will have asked you to backup your old bios, see if you can find it and reflash it, if not i would reflash the latest bios. It sounds like it doesnt like the settings on the first bios so is switching to the second, mine does the same thing when i mess up an overclock on the first bios.
 
I think they call this the Cold boot issue, several of my Gigabyte motherboards have done this in the past and various BIOS updates have fixed this.
