Strange "drop to desktop" issue....

I've been having a rather weird problem where occasionally mid game my display will just randomly drop back to the desktop for no apparent reason!?!?

It doesn't happen very often - as a guess perhaps 20% of the time while I'm gaming - but it's incredibly annoying, especially if I'm mid-battle!

To be clear, this isn't a game crash - all I have to do to get back into the game is click on the game in the taskbar but there isn't even any notification in Windows that is trying to pop up!

Has anyone got any ideas and can help in determining what's wrong?

When it happens can you grab a quick screenshot of task manager showing running processes and what's in the system tray? I'm thinking it's something like an application updater the background.

I'll give this a try next time it happens!

Most likely something in the background is taking focus back. I had this problem with an older antivirus. Changed AV problem gone.

I don't have any AV - just the bog-standard built in thingy in W10!
