Strange DVI screen corruption with Cat 7.8 ???

This is a really weird and subtle problem and it only started when I updated to the latest Cat 6.12 drivers. There seems to be what can only be described as a layer of "noise" all over the screen when looking at dark shades of colours, especially dark shades of grey or blue. Someone else on another forum has the exact same problem and has taken photos of it too (doesn't show up in screenshots):

This screen corruption only occurs when I use DVI and goes away completely once I revert back to older drivers (in my case, the Cat 6.12 drivers). I'm using an X1900XT but the guy above is using a HD2900XT and reports the problem started to occur only after the Cat 7.7 drivers.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Yes I've tried fiddling with every setting possible in CCC but nothing solves the problem. The only way to get rid of it is to either switch to a VGA cable or use older drivers.

If anyone is using the 7.8 drivers, please click on the forum link I posted above and simply observe the grey sections used by the forum. Does it look completely grey or is it speckled/noisy?
