Hi People,
Every evening i get insanely strange disconnects constantly... this is often coupled with extreme lagspikes in game (if im on World of Warcraft for example). It has been going on for a while now probably approaching 6months and it is driving me insane... i swapped over from Pipex's "xtreme" package to the ADSLMax package a few months ago too so im under that contract i guess.. is there any way i can get out of it ?.. or any way i can get the problem fixed? iv emailed both BT and pipex asking to fix the problem but they seem to like to blame the other party saying its not their fault. Either that or copy/paste a generic FAQ on how to plug in my router etc.
Heres an example of what will happen, although i dont think this can tell u anything:
01:50:39
PPP link up (ISP) [xx.xxx.xx.xxx]
01:50:39
PPP CHAP Chap receive success : authentication ok
01:50:38
PPP CHAP Receive challenge (rhost = AR2.GS1)
01:50:37
PPP CHAP Receive challenge (rhost = ERX16.Manchester3)
01:50:16
xDSL linestate up (downstream: 4960 kbit/s, upstream: 448 kbit/s)
01:50:00
PPP link down (ISP) [xx.xxx.xx.xx]
01:50:00
xDSL linestate down
this will nearly always start from around 5PM onwards (the time shown in the example is the time the router has been up for , not actual time)
since the internet is generally fine throughout the day and i have now tried a few routers with the same problem, im assuming its something to do with the line or pipex...
anyway.. thanks to any good posts which will follow
