strange FEAR problem (1.08) single player gets stuck!

just installed this on my brothers 64bit xp machine, and the 1.08 patch, on the very first level when you get dropped off by the car, it gets me out of the car and idclip's into a rubbish bin.. now i'm stuck in it and can't get out of it :S

anyone else had this?

removed it and trying again without the patch now

ive just installed fear this week and patched it before i started playing it, mines fine.
maybe try reinstalling it?
