Strange fps drop issue.

I have 2 monitors and I play a game on the main monitor in windowed full screen.

I've noticed that when I am typing or doing something on the 2nd monitor my fps goes up to 70+ in the game on the main monitor.

But when I move the arrow back to the game monitor and select it the fps drops to 20's.

How come this happens? What can I do to fix it?
 
i've just been searching around the net and it seems to be a nvidia / g-sync bug. I had to go full screen, which boosted my fps.. then went back to full screen windowed and my fps shot up.. its in the 90's now.. (though when I click away it seems to lock back at 71).

Strange.
