Strange front-left speaker issue.

Hi Guys, I'm stumped here.

Basically my front left speaker (Logitech z906) keeps cutting in-out - and when it does the sound is distorted. I initially thought it was my rather old sound card, Xonar DX, so I swapped this for a Sound Blaster Z. No change. So, obviously its got to be the speakers. So I swapped the front right speaker (which is working fine) with the front left speaker. No change, sound still keeps popping in, distorted.

Hmm, ok, then so it is the cable, that leads into to speaker amp. So I swap the cable with the another cable, that appears to be working fine, and no change. The distortion is still there on the front left speaker.

So;

1) changed the sound card
2) changed the speaker
3) changed the cable
4) updated driver

With no effect. What is left, the black/red jack on the speaker amp?
Never had this happen before.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Spence

If the front left speaker is working on the other connector, it does seem to only leave the jack on the amp as the cause.

maybe a loose wire /solder inside the amp.

I'd contact Logitech before taking anything apart as their CS is pretty good.

I had a problem with a dodgy volume knob on a Logitech speaker set a while ago and they replaced the entire set for me.

Also had a dodgy mouse button on a G700 and they just sent me a new mouse without sending the old one back.

Rich.

Agree with Rich. Was not suggesting taking the amp apart, just pointing out a possible fault.

Logitech CS is very good and they should get it sorted for you.

Sorry didn't mean to sound like you were suggesting him to take it apart, just didn't want him to ruin any chance of a replacement. :)

Hi guys

Had the speakers now for about 1.5 years I think. Long time. I will get in touch with them and see what they say,

Thanks for confirming my diagnosis.
