Strange FTP problem with WAG354G router

Hope someone can help me with this problem i have.

I have just installed a linksys WAG354G router, which is working fine. Until i tried to connect to a friends FTP server. I normally used firefox with fireFTP but it would not connect.

I could get to it via a browser but it would not let me DL anything. I could also see directory listings via dos.

So i turned off the firewall on the NIC and on the router i still had the same authentication issues using the client software. I even tried some other apps which had the same issue. I presumed it must have been a setting on my workstation.

Tested my laptop at a friends house it connected fine. so i tried it on my network and it connected to the FTP server, using Fireftp.

But it would not let me DL or (this is the odd thing) it was showing an out of date list of contents on the server, it was showing just the contents that i saw at my friends house. But i knew new stuff had been upLoaded to it since then.

This brings me back to it must be the router.

WHat can i do :confused: :confused:

Do you think it could be a port forwarding issue with ports 21 / 22 :confused:

I would really like to get this issue resolved it's starting to do my head in.
 
Just tried disabling or enabling passive mode in fireftp it made no difference.

Also i can not get my workstation to connect to it at all i just get the error message

Unable to connect.

I also got this opn my laptop untill i took it to my friends house and tested it there where it did work.

My laptop now connects to the FTP server but will not let me DL or have an up to date files listings :(
