this is a really strange problem and i am really not sure where to put this thread. as it revolves around gaming and im curious if my GPU can offer a fix i will stick it in here.

if i open a game while i am watching youtube and then pause the youtube video or close my browser while the game is open my in game sound stops and wont start again until i play more youtube video. i can mute the youtube video and my ingame sound will work aslong as the video is actually playing.

this is easily but annoyingly fixed by closing the game and launching it without youtube already playing.

does anybody have any idea what could be causing this? this has been happening for well over a year.

Have you changed anything in Windows Control Panel > Sound > Your sound device settings?

I will give that a look. I should have also said I use 3 different devices to play my sound - a Bluetooth speaker, the monitor and my wireless headset.

I will make sure to check out your question when I get on the pc later today.

Might want to remove two of them and just try one at a time, see if you can narrow down the cause.

I actually played a game in the past week that didn't have this problem. Haven't noticed a game without the problem for well over a year though. It was swords of legend online.

my settings look exactly the same as yours on the 2 devices i use. it happens no matter what device i am using to play sound at the time.
