Strange GFX problem

Recently I had the pleasure of my 9800pro going kaput on me. Nice blocks over the screen, BSOD, the usual fun and games.

I've swapped out the 9800pro for my old 8500LE as a very temporary fix. Strange thing is some of my desktop icons still look a bit corrupt (just look like blocks of hashes). Is there anything that I can do to get rid of it?

Everything else runs fine and the shortcuts in questions still work.

Ideas/suggestions/abuse appreciated...... well, maybe not abuse!

Did you re-install your drivers after the swap?

After the 5th time of trying that seems to have fixed it (using cat 6.5). I think I must've not been removing all the old drivers properly.
