For ages my computer has been making a strage clicking noise, it only happens when my monitor turns off for power saving. I thought for ages it was one of the Hdds powering up then powering down but it turns out the cards fans are the issue.

When the monitor shuts off the card's fans spin down then spin up until the monitor is woken up again. I have installed the most recent catalyst driver as previously i was running the Beta 13.3's but this has made no difference.

System spec

i7 3770k @4.5ghz

Gigabyte Windforce x3 7950 Bios FZ1

Asus sabertooth z77 with latest bios

16gb kingston

ocz 850 psu

This issue was the same with my old motherboard (P8z68-v)

Many thanks

Ed

As a temporary work around have you tried installing MSI Afterburner and making a manual fan profile to keep fan at constant speed until certain temperatures are reached.

No idea if it will help.

Yeah thanks , i did think about that but i'd really like to get to the bottom of the issue without having to resort to third party software, it could be a glitch in the bios of my card but searching the internet has come up with nothing as yet :(
