Strange gpu/psu problem

So my monitor/PC randomly shuts off with no display signal, sometimes after 5/10 minutes sometimes it will stay on for hours, but also when this happens i get no power from the usb port to my keyboard or mouse. A restart does nothing. Resetting bios does nothing.

The only way i can get it to reboot is to unplug the pcie cables and plug them back in. Before I rush out and spend £800 on a gpu, do you think there could be a chance its the PSU? I have no spare parts anymore to test with :(

I have a Corsair Ax760i running a RX6800 bought it when the 780gtx,s came out so prob 9 years old.

It’s just strange, on Dec19th i posted on here about buying a new gpu’s as it was doing the same thing and i thought the gpu was dead. But I rebuilt my system fresh install. And its been fine ever since. Prob played 100hrs of rust in that time. No overheating or anything. Now were back here again lol.

Gonna have to find someone who can run my card in their system for a few hours see if it persists.

Are you referring to the GPU power cables? Do you mean that you have to remove them, boot the PC and then plug them in?
No in order to get the pc to boot, i have to shut it down when it crashes, unplug the 2 8pins from the GPU plug them back in then turn on the PC. Its the only way i can get it to boot after it blackscreens.

If I just shut it down then restart it, it fails to boot, no bios no lights on the keyboard or mouse. Just led lights and cpu and gpu fans spinning.

Probably just gonna order a new PSU, start with the cheapest part. If that doesn't fix it, I can always recoup most of the cost by selling it on.

All the spare cables including the corsair link got lost when we moved house.

Tried a new PSU same problem, I'm at the point now where I'm not sure if this hobby is worth another £800-£900 for a Mid-Tier GPU just to play rust for a few hours a week.
