Strange graphical glitch on PES5?

Had PES5 since launch day and it has always ran fine, lovely jubbly. Reformatted my HD and re-installed it. My monitor runs up to 70hz but PES5 is jerky and unsmooth at 70hz so lowered it to 60hz (as I had done many months back), however i now get a glitch whilst playing, a line running up and down the screen, kind of like a visable refresh when you see CRTs on TV etc, this never happened before and I can't think how I can get rid of it?

I'm using a very recent BENQ 17inch (8ms refresh) on a 6800 Ultra, my mate has the same problem on his LG 26inch HDTV? I have latest Nvidia driver installed, any ideas?

Thanks all! :D

As above, you need to enable vsync in your display settings.

What you are getting, or at least describing to me, is graphical tearing, which occurs when frames are drawn out of sync with the monitors refreshrate.

is there a way to actually turn vsync on in game or does it have to be done on the graphics card tools
It depends on your current graphics card tools settings and if the game has the option to set Vsync. Most graphics card tools have 3 Vsync settings: Always On, Always Off and Application controlled.

If you set it to application controlled it will do whatever you set it to in the game. To be honest I normally just set it via the graphics cards tools, makes it easier for me as I know where to go to change it rather than browsing through game menu options.
