Strange graphical glitches

Hello all,

I recently installed sublime text two and am getting some weird graphical glitches. It looks like screen tearing but without moving the window. I am using XFCE4 and AMD drivers. I have been searching around for a while for fixes, some suggestions include turning on XFWM compositing. I already have this turned on.

I am thinking it is the AMD drivers, I have a laptop with an almost identical install of Xubuntu and Sublime text works fine-the only difference is that it has an Nvidia hgreapohics card.

Any ideas?

it may well be fglrx, it had lots of issues with 2d rendering when i last used it, i assume you mean your using fglrx instead of the xorg-radeon driver and that the issue isnt there with the xorg-radeon driver?

I am using the FGLRX driver. I used the AMD ones straight from their site, but it only supported OpenGL ~1.2. Reckon it is worth switching back to the other AMD drivers?

as long as your not after 3d acceleration its worth it, 2d accel works much better with the radeon driver

Thanks, I went back to the old driver and there are no glitches. 2D performance is very poor though.
